Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Coventry is Tradewinds' second greeter, and she accepts the role heartily. She is more forward and outwardly friendly than her partner, Flurry, but still retains the cordiality expected of one meant to say hello to potential friends and allies. As she is the better conversationalist between her and her partner, she usually keeps guests entertained until the weyr-mother arrives, telling jokes and listening to stories and harrowing adventures. She has an affinity for writing down travelers' tales in order to use them to entertain the young hatchlings constantly running around their home. She is rarely active in the day, given her nocturnal nature, but will still show politeness and hospitality to those who arrive during daylight hours.
