Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.
He was a big adult. One day, many years ago, he worked together with a old black mage, who was considered by him as partner. The Drake shared with him the same cave where the mage used as a hiding place and where he did his magic experiments. The drake thought that his experiments were interesting, so he let him live in his cave and protected him. Over time, he came to see him as a friend
But one day his friend did an experiment that he thought it was very wrong. He tried to stop him from doing so many times but the mage just kept doing it in secret. One day when the dragon was returning to his cave, the magician caught him by surprise and threw in him a spell that transform him into a drake physically young forever. This way he wouldn't be a threat to his experiment or for him ever again, and then he ran away and was never be seen again
Betrayed, now he lives under the protection of a group of several different species of dragons who live together with him, he still has a bit of resentment.
