Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There are loyal and hardworking dragons aplenty in the Land of HeroHorse, but there is not one dragon who can claim to be as reliable as Iontaofa. The male Nocturne dragon can be depended upon to fulfill the wishes of his friends and family. He is the dragon who will always remember somebody else's hatchday and who can be counted on to complete each task that he is set, within reason. For all his reliability, Iontaofa knows that there is only so much responsibility that he can handle, and makes sure that he is not swamped with uncompleted jobs.

Iontaofa has a habit of behaving with a certain degree of hostility towards dragons of rarer dragon breeds. He himself was abandoned simply because he had inherited his mother's breed. However, Iontaofa has never been violent towards anyone because of their breed, so most dragons aren't bothered by that vice of his. Iontaofa is usually found beneath the shadow-dappled moonlight in the forest, engaged in completing one task or another.
