Welcome to Dragon Cave! Dragon Cave is an online adoptables game. Collect eggs, raise them to adulthood, and then breed them to create interesting lineages. New dragons are added regularly!
Greater Spotted Drakes are found in open pine and oak forests. They are among the larger end of the spectrum, but are quite laid back and feed mostly on plant material. They are ambush predators and rely on their dappled markings for camouflage. Females are usually larger than males, though males are brighter in color. In the breeding season the male attracts a mate by making loud, low-pitched bugles, followed by an aerial courtship dance as proof of his quality as a father to her offspring.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
This drake is the bane of a peanuts and potatoes farmer. Having discovered a ready source of two of his favorite foods, he helps himself to the crops frequently.
Sometimes the farmer will see the drake and chase after him, waving pitchfork or hoe. Duggupcrops snorts at the farmer and moves off when this happens, preferring not to fight. This is the one lucky thing about the situation for the farmer, because Duggupcrops could easily kill and eat the farmer if he chose to; he just prefers the nuts and tubers.
A local painter caught the scene, depicting the farmer with arms raised and yelling, and the drake's mouth leaking uprooted potatoes as he moved off. This painting hangs in the pub the farmer frequents, a constant source of conversation about what Duggupcrops destroyed this week.
