Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A singleminded personality, Fwillraeje is rarely seen socialising with the rest of the dragons, instead seeming to prefer spending nearly all his time practising his aerial maneuvers. For this dragon, the joy of flight is everything; inspiration comes on the wing, and in turn his graceful swooping inspires those far beneath him, earthbound people watching from below and dreaming that, one day, too, they might take flight. If he is aware of the awe and longing he stokes in those fragile creatures, though, he doesn't show it. He lives to fly, and in that, others, through him, may come to realise that they too live for the freedom of the skies; but as a dragon, he knows nothing of their problems. Perhaps that makes him all the purer, to their sight.
