Despite their great size and strength, Celestial Dragons are a peaceful breed named for their spectral, starry appearance. Little else is known about them, as they spend the vast majority of their lives partially phased out of the plane of existence through the use of powerful magic. Celestial Dragons are thought to assume their corporeal form only long enough to reproduce or to die; the rest of the time, they resemble living, breathing constellations, impervious to all physical and magical harm.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cesfal is a dragon who believes that the stars hold prophecies for any who dare look at them. For eons, she has studied them tirelessly, and the only prophecy that she is sure of is that stars are very, very, bright.

Yet ever since she saw a single star blinking over a single group of wandering dragons, her faith remains strong. She believes that these dragons, who dedicate their lives to killing any vampire dragons they find, are apart of something bigger. She's not sure yet, but Cesfal can feel it when they tend to the packs of dragons stricken by the beasts themselves. Something like purpose, but so much stronger. So she waits, shadowing them as they make their way across Valkemare, and using her own magic to protect and shield them if she feels that the group has caught themselves in a pinch.

One day, she promises herself, she will make her presence known to them and help them in a more hands-on fashion. Little does she know, they are already fully aware of her existence.
