Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Dominatrix Loraine is a vindictive dragon, who bears little malice towards anyone, but has no problem finding excuses to start fights. Her favorite thing to do is set friends at each other, turning companions against one another and sitting back and enjoying the fireworks. While a highly skilled fighter herself, Loraine finds more sport in goading others into battle with nothing but the power of her mind. The adrenaline rush of starting fights is what keeps her going through the day, as well as a habit of disturbing the hunting parties of humans. Because of her actions though, she has few friends, and often responds snappishly to any who approach her.

Quite the opposite is her partner, Little Fuschia. Though the two are as different as night and day, they are deeply in love and committed to each other. While the two have vastly different hobbies, and are apart during the day, their time at home is spent curled up with one another, merely enjoying each other's company.
