Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

All of the Snow Angel dragons who grow up in the Valley of Illusion have gold wings barred with red and green. Hina, however, loves her silky white plumage, which looks so much like her mother's, and elected to stay as a hatchling forever rather than lose her pale feathers. She's a bit distant, but overall sweet, and loves to help people who have bad luck.
