Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Mur'krin was actually named after a dragon in another clan. The two met in passing while she was still very young; somehow in this brief encounter she grew to idolize the older warrior. Because of this, when her wings grew and it was time to choose her name, she turned her idol into her namesake. While young she tried to mimic her chosen hero in other ways, determined to prove she was just as strong. Though she's always held a cold calmness within her, she's yet to miss a chance to push her weight around and show everyone just how tough she is. It's turned into a kind of game between her and her mate; even their young one joins in, teaming up with his father to challenge her. Mur'krin encourages this, thrilled that they all train together and show their worth as warriors. This is such a regular occurrence now that they've been given their own barren field by the leader of the clan to hold these little matches in.
