Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As a hatchling, the frisky, mischievous Kva nearly drove clan caretaker Kad into insanity. Many of the clan's males, thankfully, are just as wild. However, since she was a common black and not as lusciously beautiful as some other females, no one imagined Kva would ever find a silver mate. Xae- bright, devoted, and surprisingly gorgeous- proved them wrong. He indulges her various whims and capers, allowing her to be as unruly as most of the hatchlings. Only now and then does Kva settle down. Acquiescing to Xae's altruistic bent, she helps care for the foundlings in the abandoned cave during the winter.

Otherwise, she is in no way a devoted mother and would much rather watch Vengeful and Virulent half-kill themselves as entertainment.
