Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zhal'la'azzhsh's body is sleek and thin, but her muscles can be seen playing under her death-black scales. No light reflects off her body—only her burning yellow eyes (one of which is more green than yellow) can be seen clearly when she moves silently through the night and the shadows, her natural home. Her claws are viciously sharp, ideal for shredding up the prey she is hunting in order to feed. Her jaws sport long, sharp fangs, which she sometimes uses to drink the blood of her prey before devouring it. But although she is a vicious hunter, she possesses a natural beauty that is rare in her kind.
