And look! It has grown much bigger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Graceful as a deer, Fioresia is as shy as one too, finding it difficult to make friends and preferring to wander through the forests or listen to the wise teachings of her mentor, Faconladir, who began to teach her in the ways of herbalism after seeing her natural proficiency at memorizing their names and various uses. While she was once made fun of when younger, she now is recognized by the other dragons as being wise in some places far beyond her years.
