Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It was late, and Jaroslav was complaining again.  If it wasn't one thing it was another—the grumpy Red seemed to have no end to the things he'd gripe about.  This time he was moaning that the bones of the knight he'd eaten for dinner were stuck in his teeth. His brother, Mikhail, and their cousin Boris weren't impressed. Jaroslav had been named after a powerful warrior, but he'd inherited none of the old warrior's charm and instead brought most of the Cave down with his constant whingeing. They'd told him to cheer up, but he grumbled.  They told him to shut up, but he complained about that, too. These days, they simply made do with earplugs. At least that way they could get some peace.
