Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Beam is a delightful, innocent little drake. She sets herself apart from her more dreary, sarcastic family by being the one ray of sunshine. She's always so positive and upbeat, if not completely ignorant. Beam seems to have this mentality that there is nothing bad in the world. She is totally fearless all things, even darkness, the bane of Sunbeams like herself, she is generally comfortable with, though it's obvious she drastically prefers sunbathing in summer to curling up in a dark cave. This naive behavior does have its dangers, though. Beam is no stranger to walking into threatening situations without care and has very often nearly gotten herself killed. Her siblings are usually the ones to pull her out of trouble, particularly her younger ones. Her older siblings (and parents to a degree) tend to mostly ignore her. Not that she even seems to notice, she's still super affection and caring towards them, even when they actively bully her.
