Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Icicles keep forming on its body, but it doesn’t seem to be bothered by the cold.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little hatchling is quite mysterious; he lives high up in the summits of the tallest mountains in the valley. It is on rare occasion he ever comes out of hiding, which is probably to look for food. He blends in with his habitat and normally likes to stay submerged in the center of blizzards. The ones that have met him suggest he is the soul of a hatchling that died in the mountains.
