Thunder Dragons are the masters of electricity. Their wings gather energy as they soar through the clouds, and when they clap their wings together they can create devastating arcs of lightning. They can stay airborne nearly indefinitely, landing only to sleep and breed; they catch their prey from the air and take moisture from the clouds. A thunder dragon’s roar is considered to be an omen of misfortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Riskelios is a particularly large and muscular Thunder dragon, having practiced for years in order to become as fast a flyer as he can possibly be. In his early days, he roamed the desertous regions of the world, simply living his best life and occasionally wreaking havoc for any local dragons that he happened upon.

During this time, Riskelios found a determined young blue Zyumorph traversing the sands, and immediately fell in love with her, though he did not admit it. After bonding for a while, the two parted ways, rather bittersweetly for Riskelios, to pursue their own lives. He branched out from the desert and took to the mountains, training under some of the best fliers of dragon kind, and becoming a prodigy of flight.

Eventually, the Thunder settled down in a cave with other dragons, and to his surprise the Zyumorph, Mappex, he had fallen in love with had picked the same cave! They bonded once again and became mates quickly, much to Riskelios' delight.
