It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dewet is much more unique than she prefers to think herself as, compared to the other dragons in the clan. Her eyes are forever filmed over with blindness, a result of a tragic mishap when she was only a hatchling. She hates to be thought of as weak or different because of this, she can get along just fine without sight, relying mostly on her smell and touch to guide her through the caverns of the clan's home.

Dewet, however, has gained a strange power from her mishap- she is able to see into the future in bits and pieces, able to tell when a great misfortune is about to happen or vice versa. Now please, don't think of her as some all-mighty "See-all, know-all" dragon, because she isn't. She can never really tell if the tidbits she sees are going to happen in the near future or the distant, which leads to her visions often being doubted by the other clan members. Dewet doesn't care, she's happy to help her clan in any way that she can.
