Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The pale skinned dragon plots by candlelight, the flickering flame illuminating cave walls covered in clawed writings. They detail his bold plan to challenge and defeat his deadly enemy: the sun. Trapped by day, he can travel only at night, but he will journey to the end of the earth where the sun first rises over the horizon. There he will challenge it to a duel, and while the sun is weak and new in the morning light he will best it and slay the daystar, and no more will it shine. Then he and his tribe will rule the Earth, free of the burning flame that would scorch their flesh. His journey is long indeed, but he is determined, and there is none more determined than a dragon. Heed these words: for the time will come when the sun no longer rises, and all will know he has achieved victory.
