Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Cementation on a Pyre is a White hatchling who is convinced that she is a chicken. This is, more likely than not, a result of being raised by Cailin Ban; an actual chicken. Cailin Ban had always been a motherly hen and the fact that her eggs were always stolen to feed one dragon or another annoyed her. One day, the hen decided to get revenge on the dragons. She dragged a pristine egg off the pile of eggs that had been accepted into the Land of HeroHorse. The chicken had meant to set it back in its place as soon as the dragons discovered that it was missing, but it hatched before anybody noticed its absence.

Pyre's white coat, feathery wings and gentle demeanour led Cailin Ban to believe the hatchling to be a chicken. Pyre was raised as a chicken and no amount of evidence to the contrary has driven her to change this view. She intentionally cast an anti-ageing spell to prevent herself from growing up, as she wanted to remain as similar in size to Cailin Ban as she possibly could.
