Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Beast has always loved playing with animals; one day when he realized animals were beginning to be frightened by his growing size, he asked his keeper to stop him growing.  He is quiet and shy, preferring not to talk to other dragons, but opens up to animals and is often seen using his magic to try to communicate with them.  He dislikes the main cave, finding it too noisy and busy, and prefers to simply spend time with his animal friends.
