Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lenora has a haughty attitude, but she is frequently reprimanded for it by her mother. The Gold dragon still hasn't been able to see why her mother is so disdainful of her attitude; she has something of a superiority complex that makes her think that Gold dragons are better than all the other types, but it's really just a lack of exposure to other types (save for her Valentine's dragon mother) that fostered this attitude. The Immortal Spirit and Venus of the Dreamscape sheltered Lenora throughout her childhood and isolated her from all others for fear of losing her to the more aggressive dragons. Now, it seems this has had negative results.
