Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Silver females eat meat only when a male dragon brings it to them as part of courtship, though they are typically highly-independent. They possess an almost magical aura that lights up any place they are in, and are looked upon with awe by humans and animals alike.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Long Tainith is a master sworddragon, who met and befriended Skuligerray during a battle against one of Gweliv's bitten. She does not work for anyone she does not know well because she has a deeprooted distrust of all authority. Instead she deals out what she considers justice on her own terms. Tainith's self-given job is to apprehend or otherwise kill criminals and evil creatures who threaten the safety of Thundercrest.

Despite her softer, warmer side and appearance, Tainith can be very ruthless, sending two dragons to their deaths in order to distract some Vampires so that she could sneak in and rescue Skuliggeray from Gweliv's domain. She has assisted Skuligerray in defeating many a monster. She is skilled at magic and can run on walls, strengthen doors and unlock locks by simply touching them.
