Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chocolatelove has a long lineage, and as such, he was one of many dragons of the Old Featherwing Weyr who was driven out of their traditional lands by the usurping King Yule. Chocolatelove fought in the Great War on the side of Nightburner, the rightful ruler of the Featherwing Weyr, and thus was exiled to the outskirts of the lands along with the others who supported the rightful leader. Since his exile, Chocolatelove has tried to maintain a positive attitude; he's one of the Fallen Weyr's hunters since their exile, and he's often responsible for the organization of other dragons. Some think that he should be the leader of the Fallen Weyr instead of Nightburner, who has sunk into angry depression and dropped many of his old responsibilities, but Chocolatelove stubbornly refuses. He remains loyal to Nightburner and perhaps one of his greatest advocates.

Chocolatelove has not taken a mate, though he is in love with Scarrose, Nightburner's daughter. She is in grief, but he will wait.
