Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Vani T is a pretty dragon who is most happy in the fall, chasing falling golden, orange and yellow leaves around through the swirling wind. She is a bit of a snob at times and is very bossy, especially to her best friend Eyaut. Vani T is somewhat spoiled and Eyaut is always willing to stand aside and let her best friend have everything—except for the young spring dragon Aellon.
