Copper Dragons are masters of stealth, slipping silently and swiftly through the forests and jungles where they live. Often hunting in groups, their prey rarely know they are being stalked until the dragon’s at their throat. In the air they are agile and skilled. Copper Dragons prize family groups, spending large amounts of time teaching their young skills. So great is their love of life and family that they will sometimes adopt orphaned dragons of other breeds to raise.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Arena started as an informal sporting event between dragons in Sevra's cave, a way to prove their worth against each other. It has since turned into a rather large ordeal—the winner receiving the best prey, the best nesting area, and bragging rights. A new Champion is crowned each month on the day of the main event: the Bloodmoon. Smaller battles take place weekly to help determine who will actually participate in the main event, though winning these battles is not as great a feat as winning the Bloodmoon itself. The winners are called the Dryear-mitore, meaning "Champions of the Moon".

In battle, Lagoron relies very heavily on setting up ambushes and overwhelming his opponents with speed rather than physical strength. He is physically incapable of the brute force necessary to take down most other Gold rank Champions. Due to his sheer skill and jovial attitude, he has been nicknamed the "Laughing Assassin". Lagoron himself admits that he likes to "play with his food".
