White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zhai Bacon was raised as any White dragon would be: as a pacifist and a healer. While the former came easily to him, the latter was a bit more difficult. Zhai rarely appeared for magic lessons, as he could see no point in participating in something he was unable to do. Left with hours of free time, he explored the surrounding caves, stumbling upon what he knew was his calling. One cavern was lit with magelight, and peering inside, Zhai knew he had found a very different type of magic lesson in progress. Here, instead of listening to lectures about diseases no one caught anymore, dragons sparred against each other, heaving slabs of stone and summoning thick walls to protect themselves. Zhai was entranced, and, summoning his courage, stepped inside. The sparring dragons stopped, but invited him to join them. As he lifted his first rocks (with the help of a friendly Green dragon), Zhai made it his goal to become the best geomancer in Valkemare. Eventually, that is exactly what he'd be.
