Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Iri would be the hype man (woman) of the Jingle Lads. She is easily Doe's favorite dragon under his command, constantly full of joy and spirit, almost to a fault. Even when her group is tirelessly gathering naughty dragons to sacrifice for the sake of keeping their home safe, Iri is singing away and showing off her vibrant, iridescent scales (which is where her name comes from.) Elf, the group's second in command, actually worries quite a bit about her, fearing she might actually be insane. During the other eleven months of the year, she seems perfectly normal, but as the solstice draws near, her sanity starts slipping and she really gets into the acts of murder her group performs, seeming to forget the dire and necessary purpose they do it for in the first place. Elf wants to get help for her, but his confidence is usually shaken by how kind she is to the other lads, including him. So he's never quite sure she's in need of help or not, if it's all in his head or not, if she's crazy.
