Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ransi hatched into a genetic anomaly. Not only was he the smaller, less muscular alt black type, he had a seemingly unending exhaustion. The tribe elders shook their heads at the child, he was simply too weak and unfit to carry on his genes. When the elders told Ransi that he would not be able to have any children, lest he contaminate the gene pool, the normally relaxed hatchling was furious. After raging for weeks, Ransi seriously began to consider running away so that he could live his life as he pleased. But the elders caught wind of Ransi's plan. The elders restrained the hatchling and froze him, making sure he didn't go back on their orders. As soon as he was frozen, Ransi went limp and began to act mellow again. The elders, thinking that all was well, went on their way. What the elders did not know is that the freezing magic cured Ransi's tiredness. Ransi is secretly planning to escape from the tribe now that he is capable...but not before he gets his revenge.
