Blazeback Dragons live in active volcanic regions, rarely straying from such homes. Their skin is thick and extremely heat resistant, allowing them to swim in hot pools of lava. This lava ignites the oils secreted along the Blazeback’s spine, and in combination with their ability to cast fire magic, can keep the flames going indefinitely provided the dragon consumes enough mana to maintain its strength. An impressive intimidation tool, the flames also provide enough heat to keep Blazebacks warm on volcanic summits.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yoganryu lives on a volcano that while remote enough to dissuade casual visits, is still accessible to determined travelers intent on reaching the lava pools. This usually means terrified humans attempting to dispose of all kinds of cursed objects, including weapons, clothing, and in particular, jewelry. It's gotten annoying enough that Yogan has taken to setting up a collection basket near the base of the volcano for people to dispose of their items into, so he doesn't keep finding sharp things and lumps of metal in the lava he swims in. As it turns out, some cursed items are immune to lava anyway, so Yogan has to call in his magic-savvy siblings to deal with those. At some point, Yogan thinks, his siblings might as well just set up shop on the volcano so people go to curse-breakers first and not his swimming pool.
