Slag-Tail Behemoths are among the most massive species of dragons, towering high over most other creatures. Their gigantic size is only rivaled by their even bigger ego, and paired with an explosive temper and an impressive array of weapons, these dragons are nothing to scoff at. When angry, a Slag-Tail Behemoth will heat itself with its fire mana until it glows from its claws and scythe-like tail. Vents along its sides may also glow, and can help disperse the heat once the dragon has calmed down. A single swipe from one’s heated tail can easily cleave through most materials with little to no resistance whatsoever. Slag-Tail Behemoths are incredibly territorial, holding strict control over the entire volcano where one may reside and only ever allowing another of their kind in to breed. Hatchlings are only raised by their mother until their plates begin to come in, at which point the young dragon is forced out of the territory to fend for themselves. Few ever make it to adulthood, but the ones who do are some of the most feared and respected predators around.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation.
