Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Diamondrega GoldRibbon (after the gemstone: Diamond) is the 41st dragon to join the clan cave. Legend tells that, if hearts are pure, the spirit of Christmas will manifest into a new species of dragon, one that mimics and mirrors the hearts and souls of those of the clan cave, while also giving form and solidity to the season's true joy. Diamondrega, along with her egg mate, Diamondreza, is this legend given truth and form. Her wings are lined with gold flecks that sparkle in the deep moonlight and seem to have a life of their own. She and Diamondreza are completely inseparable, and together they dance through the pale winter sky, their vibrant colors reflecting from one another like silver and gold jewels. Diamondrega has a poise and grace which surpasses all within the clan cave, and even as a hatchling, she inspired great warmth and joyful Christmas tidings. There is no higher honor among the clan dragons than to be gifted a golden ribbon from Diamondrega.
