Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dreamshadow was found as an egg by Vohn Exel, who confused the cloud it was sitting on for a connection to the wind. He has always been very clumsy but helpful, although he caused more calamity for Vohn then aid. He started out being incapable of acting in combat, but soon learned to use his natural abilities for misdirection and confusion.

He has since become quite adept at this and is capable of defending himself against much larger dragons, even if it is only enough to survive. His enduring and charming personality instantly wins over almost everyone he meets, dragon and humans alike. He has developed a fondness for slight of hand magic tricks, and uses his natural aura to aid him. He will perform anytime he is asked, and sometimes even when he isn't. Strong spirited and kind, he is a proud Dragon that has risen to any challenge that has greeted him, even though he usually caused quite a mess along the way.
