Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Just as his namesake suggests, Sojourner once traveled far and wide using his protective nature to provide his servitude for frail and sickly dragons he had met along the way. On one such outing, he witnessed a beautiful purple dragon trying to escape the clutches of a band of dragon hunters. No matter how hard she tried, her tattered wings refused to carry her out of harm's way. Sojourner, bound by his instinct of duty, rushed out in front of the hunters and scared them off with a mighty wave of his shield-like tail. The purple dragon behind him cautiously approached her savior after the humans had fled and gave him a lick of gratitude on his face; a lick that would soon lead to an everlasting relationship. Ever since that fateful day, his mate Aeya, her children, and their adopted paper hatchlings are the only dragons for which Sojourner has vowed to risk his life and sworn to defend.
