Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
It was the day after a new batch of eggs began to appear in the cave. All of the humans were busy caring for the new eggs, the dragons adjusting to the changes. No one noticed the vampire Drusilla escape her cave and snatch the nocturne egg, nor did they see her bite it and turn it into one of her own; by the time any one else saw, it was too late. From that moment on, she never let that egg out of her sight, nor the resulting hatchling that she began to call Spike. Considering this, Spike is well-adjusted. He isn't as friendly as his brother Angel—he loathes such comparisons—and is much more ill-tempered, prone to fights; but one thing Spike never does is waver in his duty of keeping his sire and her dangerous impulses in check. In that way, he fully lives up to his brother.
