Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

San Typhon of Light is the 7th descendant of San Victorus, who made his home on a cliff-side monastery built by San Victorus for the protection of all land and water based dragons.  San Victorus opened his doors to any and all dragons that needed help or sanctuary from the other dragons that were keen on killing them.  He protected the dragons in the sanctuary from any and all dragons of darkness and evil.

San Typhon of Light grew up in the sanctuary and was taken under the wing of San Syphone, the 6th protector of the monastery.  Under the tutelage of San Syphone, San Typhon of Light eventually learned how to protect the dragons in the sanctuary and defend them against the dragons of darkness and evil over a period of time.  Over time, as San Typhon grew stronger, wiser, and more confident of her abilities, San Syphone left the monastery on a pilgrimage, never to be heard from again, leaving the monastery in the care of San Typhon of Light, the 7th protector of the monastery.
