Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Nearly always silent, Itsugami Tohru acts more as a grandfather figure to the dragons and hatchlings of his keeper, Meyoline's cave than anything else.  Tohru loves to feel the wind ruffling through his sheet-like scales, and will even act as a kite to help the newly-winged hatchlings learn how to fly.  Ancient poems and bits of lore are written in tiny handwriting in several places all over his body.  Tohru does not seem to mind this, as he often offers himself for Meyoline to write some of her better compositions on.
