Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

One of the most notorious black dragons at the Breedery is Noxtobrynne. Unlike most of her kin, she has little interest in honorable battle. She prefers to stalk and murder, taking out only those who never had a chance. She is also known as a clever liar and a player of mind games. Naturally, her own kind don't like her much, nor do most other dragons. She has friends among the darker individuals, though, and has even been known to dally with certain male Desipis. Though not accepted into any Desipis clan, she is allowed more freedom of movement in their local territories than most non-Desipis, and is often seen consorting with the Great Elders of the Vorare clan. Ugly rumors claim that she is in fact the mother of the zombie hatchling Imp, and may even have been in on its murder and subsequent 'resurrection'. No one has proof, or she would be driven away from the black dragons' territory and maybe even exiled to the wilderness, but everyone has suspicions. Noxtobrynne just smiles...
