Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Frustration was interested in magic, unusually so. He was not content to merely observe more complicated magic; he wanted to perform it itself. He tried to cast an anti-aging spell on another dragon but cast it on himself.

His caretaker found it annoying that Frustration was hard to hatch and impossible to age to adulthood, giving him the name My Little Frustration. Whether such a name is used with fondness varies from moment to moment.
