Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kinryuu's name means "golden dragon", obviously named after his golden scales. Moonsoul takes pride in this golden caveborn. Seeing that this massive beast takes no interest in fighting, and has become a symbol of peace in Moonsoul's cave. Kinryuu is very affectionate toward his unrelated sister, Okane, a Gold Tinsel. She grew up with Kinryuu as hatchlings. They seem to still act as hatchlings when they are around each other. Kinryuu chose a cave high up on a mountain. He disappears to the mountain every once in a while to maintain solitude. Moonsoul once followed him to the cave to see what he did there. She was astounded to see the cave was covered with glittering quartz crystals. Kinryuu was surprised to see his master following him. Moonsoul knew the spiritual power withing quartz. Moonsoul understood that this was Kinryuu's home of solitude, where the massive beast dwelled in peace.
