Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Memerable was laid, she was just another common little albino egg among others in a pile on a distant mountain in Galsreim. One day, she found herself stolen away from her cozy nest by a human. They wanted to try to trade her with other humans for a rare and precious Gold egg! Memerable's egg was available to trade for quite some time. At first, the other humans just laughed. No one in their right mind would trade such a precious egg for this translucent little baby. But she stayed there so long that the other humans were beginning to become curious, wondering why such a colorless little creature could be worth so much. One of the humans decided that this pallid baby was worth more, for there was something special about her: her oily skin had a different sheen, almost making her shine brighter than any Gold. So the human offered a Gold egg in exchange for her and took her home. Never has an Albino ever been worth so much, but now, to someone, she is priceless; she is Memerable.
