Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to enjoy sunbathing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

'There was once a traveling dragon, unusually interactive with humans, who acted as an emissary before the days of stealing eggs. He was strong enough to win any fight, whilst charismatic enough to avoid most. But one day, a hatchling attacked him, using underhanded tricks to topple the dragon before finally slaying him in battle...'

Thus was the tale Lizalfos was told as a hatchling, along with his hatchmates. Of the hatchling that had ruined the world's harmony. But unlike his hatchmates, or his parents...he aspired to be like the hatchling, rather than the adult dragon.

And so he left his home, and trained for a long time in the winter cold, so as to become like the malevolent hatchling. The lack of necessities weakened him, but he endured, focusing on survival as opposed to growth, and keeping him confined to the hatchling shape he so desired.

Until one day, he proclaimed himself Lizalfos Goronbane, Slayer of Peace, and planned to bring on a new age of disrepair...
