Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Veor de Bixen—to be blunt—is a downright hideous dragon. Her build is skeletal and blocky, and many of her bones seem to be dislocated, which may be true because she always walks on her two hind legs. Her skin is a pallid pinkish silver and has screw-like knobs at each joint. Often she is mistaken as a male because her voice is gruff and low-pitched. It is said that her disturbing deformities exist because she was cursed as a hatchling. Many people avoid her so they would  not catch the curse. However, those who aren't too shallow, who look past the flaws of her appearance, are rewarded, for Veor de Bixen has a great personality. Because she has gone through so much suffering, she is very sympathetic and full of brilliant advice. She can develop compassion for humans, unlike most other albino dragons. She always tries to help anyone she sees find interesting lost places to explore and study in. Life with her as a friend is filled with adventure, mystery, and magic.
