Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Caerphilly of Fae has had a rough lot in life. Being inbred, her genetics are against her and she is slightly crippled in her hind legs. She feels uncomfortable around other dragons, and has trouble meeting their eyes, usually watching her feet while they talk to her. She gets frustrated because she can't communicate well. Some days she's content to just sit outside her lair and draw lines in the dirt, over and over and over. Many of the other dragons pity her and have done their best to make friends with her, some with mild success, though no one is really able to get close to her. Mating is traumatic for her and she usually hides for weeks following a mating attempt.
