Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Like many Golden Wyverns, Fate Elsinor is skilled in illusionary magic. He used to cast magic to his habitat to create the most beautiful scenery he could think of. Young Fate thought of the scenery he made as "happiness" and continued living in his dream world. That was until he suffered from a sickness—one that greatly depleted his magical energy. Unable to maintain the magical scenery, he was forced to live in the world without his magic—it was ugly and imperfect.

To put an end to his misery, Fate went out of his habitat for the first time, searching for a cure. His journey led him to many places—from the jungles to the alpines, opening his eyes to the great landscapes of the world—something he could never imagine of until he was forced to leave his habitat.

Eventually, he met a wise dragon who cured his sickness. Fate, however, has discovered his dream—to travel around the world of Valkemare, finding the most wonderful scenery this largely unexplored world has to offer.
