Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very light and enjoys bouncing all around.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Blassa was named for the Swedish word for "inflate". She is quite possibly one of the happiest creatures you will ever meet. She could easily be described as "obnoxiously" happy, actually. She's an eternal optimist, always looking on the bright side and seeing the good in everyone. She has always has a compliment ready, and is nice even to other Hatchlings who make fun of her round little tummy. She's been warned against being to trusting, but Blassa just can't believe anyone would do anything bad to her, and so she bounces happily through life thinking the world is a great place to live in!
