Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Asase Ya is apprenticed to Cochimetl, the scribe and general scholar of the cave. She is clumsy and tends to mess up, but tries her best, even if it means staying up all night, or working until she drops. She's busy nearly all the time, so she has trouble socializing with dragons other than Cochimetl. Asase Ya's growth was stunted by an unknown cause, and she is distinctly smaller and weaker than the other dragons, making her unsuited for practically anything. <br/>Asase Ya is the goddess of the earth and fertility to the Ashanti people of Ghana.
