It was previously believed that purple dragons were exclusively female, but this is not the case. Recent environmental shifts have revealed the existence of both genders of this breed. Female behavior is well known; they are primarily herbivores but will eat meat during mating season. On the other hand, very little is known about the behavior and habits of male purple dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Yellow-whipper is a purple dragon whom does not know her parents, though she has a desire to find out. Her only child, Warrum, a water dragon, perished not long ago, leaving her grief-striken and depressed, preventing her from breeding with her beloved mate, Watcher of the Waves, a water dragon. Yellow-whipper is often nicknamed "sphinx" due to the way she likes to lay down. She is fiercely protective of herself, but loves to socialise with the other dragons, though is often prevented by her mate, whom is extremely protective. Yellow-whipper is kind and thoughtful, yet can get a mighty temper and can be nasty and vicious. She is not one to hang around in when she's in a bad mood!
