Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It seems to get warmer and brighter when you are around it.

And look! It has grown a beautiful silver mane! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Ceightbex is a naughty little hatchling who was once intended to be a part of OutlawQueen's Witch's Almerald project which brought the Witchlight Dragons and the Almeralds together. Instead, as a curious little hatchling, he got too close to one of her experiments with ice on another hatchling and ended up frozen instead. Immortal as a child he has no problems playing games with the other hatchlings, but will forever miss the hatchlings who grow while he stays young. Luckily, his Scrollbearer exposes her icy magic to quite a few hatchlings and he has made himself some permanent friends and learnt one very important lesson all hatchlings should lean: stay away from the Alchemy hut. One never knows what might or might not walk out of there. From inanimate objects to dragons back from the dead, it can be a terrifying place to play.
