Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Madlyst is very small dragon for her species, to the point that most people would mistake her for a hatchling. She's a fierce fighter, though, and known for it, though she's not one who opts to fight a losing battle if given a chance to run away.

She isn't at all social and tends to avoid company whenever possible, even to the point that she travels constantly to stay away from others.

Some claim to have seen her head crack open and speak but this is, of course, completely ridiculous. Even in a land of magic and dragons, there can't possibly be a curse such as that...
