Harvest Dragons are a large, flightless breed most often found in heavily forested mountains. Normally shy, these omnivorous dragons keep to themselves in remote regions, but in the fall they descend from their high territory to search for food—and lots of it. During the autumn months, harvest dragons will eat whatever they can find, from large and small animals to nuts and fruit. In the winter they retreat into large caves and hibernate until spring, living off the fat they have built up.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rune of Greed is usually the one to bring fruit to the clan, despite his greedy nature. He will hoard as much as half the harvest to himself if he gets the chance, which has led him to be banished from the clan's normal camp to a separate cave, where he stashes all of his food. Sometimes clan members are sent there to burn the food, since it rots too fast for the hoarder to eat. All of this has caused Rune of Greed to live a lonely life. He is rarely considered as a clan member, since he usually attacks the dragons who come to rid of the rotting stink. They sometimes tease him, and steal his food, more to irritate him and show him he isn't part of the clan than to get something to eat.
